2008 Shootout Rules:
There will be three dive boat trips scheduled during 2007, in May, June, and September.
Check the Club Calendar page or Boat Dive page for details.
At the regular monthly meeting following each scheduled dive boat trip there will be a competition for digital images and video taken on that dive trip.
You may enter 2 digital images and/or 20 seconds of unedited video footage.
Image manipulation is only allowed to the extent permitted by the general rules.
This is not a traditional film shootout, in which shooters get a roll of film at the start of the day and the judges take it away at the end of the day. Due to the time and logistics of dealing with files on the boat ride home, we allow you to take your images home to select your entries. We go on the honor system and trust every one will play fair in this fun club competition and not force the board members to go to more effort to enforce stricter rules.
There are currently no limits on the number of shots that can be taken. This is not a traditional 1 roll 36 shot shootout.
At the end of the year, points earned from each of the 3 California shootout Competitions will be combined to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards.
Point Structure for California Shootout Competitions:
1st Place = 3 points
2nd Place = 2 points
3rd place = 1 point
